The New Metal Series

From David R. Day
Over the years, David R. Day continues to strive to stay on the edge when it comes to imaging and presenting his work. The New Metal Series is the latest step of this journey.
The New Metal Series uses a painstaking process that places David’s images directly on metal sheets. The matching of individual images to the distinct patina and quality of each piece of metal, creates art work that has a vibrant, romantic feel.
Who says you can’t buy LOVE? Taken on my 50 birthday, it is a part of a sign in Disney World and one of my favorites.
Black on Red
The back of 1010 Main, Boise ID. Spent many a night on both sides of plank through the door just below this old school fire escape.
Idanha
Is it true Hemmingway slept on the third floor?
Appletini
Crystallized galvanized Steel contrasts with the sexy curves of this modern cocktail.
Sun Mic
This is the historic Mic that Elvis used to record Hound Dog at the Sun Studios in Memphis Tennessee. The Patina of the copper enhances the historic feel.
A simple pleasure, up with a cherry. When printed on copper and floated on a strong piece of aluminum, reminds us the cocktail hours of old.
Founded 1985 Boise City National Bank was at the corner 8th and idaho. This sign still shines there.
Three Tulips Dance
Tulips dance from Spring to Summer. The cherry frame set sthe tone for a sharp presentation of Metal on Metal.
